Common Sense Networks

(June 2021-Mar 2024)

In my most recent role as Content Moderation Coordinator for Common Sense Networks, I led a team of education and media specialists to review content for our streaming service (Sensical) and partnerships (e.g. TikTok STEM, YouTube). This role required constant, clear communication of company policy and a problem-solving mindset to find opportunities in obstacles. I conducted industry research and content analysis to provide our partnerships with effective strategies using presentations and written memos. Additionally, I worked across departments (Acquisitions, Sales, Content Operations, Programming) to ensure project completion along our pipeline.

Hollow Rose Studios

(Mar 2021-present)

I also enjoy pursuing creative projects in my free time, my most recent one being an interactive visual novel titled “An Everyday Love.” I managed all aspects of this game, from conception to distribution, using my background knowledge in art, programming, marketing, industry research, and writing to bring my vision to fruition. Utilizing my network, keeping realistic deadlines, and taking note of how to present my game in relation to other titles along the industry calendar led my project to successful release. Months later, I was able to cover the costs of production through donations alone.

Cures of Color

(Apr 2021-dEC 2021)

While at Cures of Color, I was the head writer and creative advisor for the book Grace’s Heartful Protest. After writing the basic plot (simple enough for 3-8 readers to comprehend, but still educational and entertaining), I came up with games and activities to sprinkle throughout the book that would be theme and age-appropriate. Based on our publication deadline, I separated our writing/art tasks month by month so that artists would know what to present during each meeting. Following the initial writing process, I led the team through character design, style rules, margin and perspective rules (as drawing for coloring books has a different goal than direct illustration), drafts and outlines, feedback, edits, readability check (how do the eyes move along the page from text to visuals?), final drafts, final edits and feedback. In doing this, we finished the book on schedule and received praise from the executive board on the quality of our work.

NBCUniversal

(May 2019 - Sep 2020)

During my time with NBCUniversal’s Bravo & Oxygen networks, I became familiar with communicating with multiple departments at once, allowing me insight into navigating different personalities, circumstances, and deadlines. Week by week, I would reconstruct programming schedule grids based upon research insights and metadata, presenting these findings to the executive board. These duties required me to employ both creative and analytical thinking to craft actionable plans for short and long-term grids alike.
Another example of my NBCUniversal experience would be my position in Primetime Marketing with the CNBC team. While there, I supported the marketing department by scheduling airline promos via Webscheduler, managing merchandise deliveries, leading brand campaign meetings, and facilitating in-person watch parties. These duties required both in-person and over-the-phone communication with production teams, talent, vendors, distributors, and executives alike. As a result, I’ve grown accustomed to communicating with people on a variety of company levels, preparing solutions under strict deadlines, adapting to various data systems, and doing so with the optimism of someone eager to enter the field.

The Studio

(Sep 2017 - Dec 2018)

As the Content Acquisitions Director for The Studio, I was responsible for scouting and reviewing student pitches based on The Studio's creative, financial, and brand guidelines, selecting six to pass through the first stage. I then collected their treatments (for which I designed and gave guidelines for) and promotional videos for the second round of judging (in which all studio execs had a say), and prepared pitchers for their presentation during the event. In addition, I assisted in creating the event's schedule, set-up, and organization, and collaborated with industry alumni for the final round of judging during the event as well.
